Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Ear Infection
My8 Old Has Had A Fever From 100 To 104 For Seven Days And Has A slight ear infection and has been on antibiotics For Five Days They Blood Test Today Shows A Crp Of 90 Esr Of 120 And Her Urine Has Protien And Hgb In It They Changed Her Antibiotics Today Is There Something Else We Should Look Into..No Muscle Pain And Negative Chest Xray
Does your child has any other health issue that he/she is taking medicine for a long duration? What medicines did you give her/him for fever at home before going to doctor? Is your kid allergic to anything? Any recent history of swimming or travelling?
I assume that the fever has been controlled and the antibiotics the doctor has prescribed to your kid after CRP and ESR results might be broad spectrum antibiotics which should help to fight the infection effectively. I suggest complete the course of medicines. If there is no major improvement then consult an immunologist / rheumatologist as well as a nephrologist for further assessment. They will be able to guide you on further tests if required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
