Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure In An Elderly

My mother was just rushed to the emergency room. She is 82 years old and had heart surgery 1 1/2 years ago for an aneurysm on her aorta. She also has high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes, severe arthritis, gastrparesis. Her blood pressure was quite high this morning, she couldn t stop shaking and could not stand. What do you suggest?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
thank you for your query....
you have provided some important points in your history but a few points are missing which are required to give a proper suggestion...
since how many years is she having hypertension and type 2 diabetes?
how high was her bp this morning and generally at what range does it remain?
did she have similar episodes of emergency admission in the past?
what medications is she taking for the diseases you have mentioned above?

kindly give me the above details for further consultation...
also a patient such as your mother should be thoroughly examined and then only the treatment plan should be finalised...

hope this was helpful....
