Suggest Treatment For High LDL 135

My cholesterol has never been high (LDL) but I know I have been eating things I should not have for the past 2-3 months. I recently had a physical and my LDL was 135 and I was immediately put on medication for this. I told the nurse I really did not wanted to try diet first but due to my hx of htn and diabetes. (A1C)6.9 she said the Dr wanted me on it.
