Suggest Treatment For High BP

My blood pressure has be high and my doctor wants to place me on a blood pressure medication. My current medication are Digoxin 0.25 mg QD and Warfarin 7 mg QD. Blood pressure runs about 180/95 and HR 75. What do you think would be a good blood pressure medication with my current medication?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com
This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.

I understand your concern.
Well, generally when first diagnosed with high blood pressure, doctors start with any of ACE-I/ARBs, beta blockers, CCBs or diuretics.
I would suggest telmisartan 40 in the morning and amlodipine 5/10 at night. Your other medications can continue alongwith.
But it is better to see a cardiologist and get his/her advice. He/she will be able to prescribe you the drugs also.

Hope i have answered your question.
If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
Regards
