Suggest Treatment For High BP

Hi there. I have been monitoring my blood pressure for 2 weeks and the average seems to be around 142 over 88 during an average day. It does spike to 150 over 90 when under pressure but also goes down to 135 over 82 when not working. I am 58 years old. Should I be concerned? Thanks you

Hello
Welcome to HCM.
You are in the stage of pre-hypertension. I think the anti-hypertensives are not indicated at this level of BP. But certain life style modifications are recommended at this stage:
1. Avoid salt in your diet.
2. regular exercises.
3. avoid fatty foods and junk foods.

Keep monitoring your BP. If these lifestyle modification doesnt work and your BP stays high, then you would need anti-hypertensives.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.,
