Suggest Treatment For High BP Levels And Pain In Chest

I ve been diagnose with hypertension and I take 4mg of coversyl daily, with three stents in my heart that were put in last year. my blood pressure has shot up to 167/97 and there is a burning pain in my chest. My avg blood pressure that I ve been monitoring is usually 140/80-90. Should I be concerned or just let it pass, it s happened a few times before but usually will pass. I m 36 yrs old with no high cholestoral but I do smoke (cutting down to half a pack a day)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

With a history of 3 stents , it may be best to be seen as soon as possible for assessment to rule out a cardiac cause of the chest pain.

It is very good that you have been able to reduce the number of cigarettes that you use daily.
If you can further reduce this number to zero that would decrease your future heart and lung disease risk especially with a history of heart disease and hypertension.
If this is difficult to do on your own then you should enlist help of your doctor, family and friends

I hope this helps
