Suggest Treatment For High BP And Swelling In Hands And Feet
My feet and hands have been swelling up and my BP has been 137/96 p 84 on the average over the past 2 to 3 weeks, but now the swelling won t go down even after resting. What can i do at home to lower my BP and reduce swelling till I can get to the doctor on Monday? Thanks Yvonne J

Your symptoms are suggestive of Essential hypertension.So immediately get investigations like ECG,2 D Echo,lipid profile,serum creatinine, Random blood profile to evaluate your condition.Drugs like Diuretics will be helpful in your case to decrease your swelling,thereby reducing your BP.Avoid stress and anxiety.Take salt restricted high protein low fat diet.Take fruits and vegetable salads regularly.Restrict your water intake to 2litres.Monitor your blood pressure and heart regularly.If your lipids are high you should also start using statins by discussing with your doctor.Consult your cardiologist for expert management.

there may be other causes of swelling also.
