Suggest Treatment For Heaviness In Chest After Walking

Hello!! I am a 36 year old female and slightly overweight. I have been walking an hour a day since a year. My problem is that recently I have been experiencing heaviness in the chest(both sides) soon after I start walking and the pain gradually decreases in 30 minutes or so. Why does this happen? Is there any problem with my heart?

Hello,

These are suggestive of heart disease and you will need evaluation. You should get one ECG done and you may need TMT test.

You should get lipid profile and sugars tested. Avoid fatty, oily and high calorie diet. Have low salt diet and monitor blood pressure regularly. Regular exercises like brisk walking, jogging according your capacity at least 30 min a day and 5 days a week. Eat lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits, fish once or twice a week, and avoid meat. Avoid smoking and alcohol if any. There shouldn't be abdominal fat deposition or obesity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sagar Makode
