Your difficulty could be a primary problem of sleep, snoring or esophageal reflux. If you are very tired in the morning, sleep easily during the day and snore loudly, you may have sleep apnea. Meanwhile, the cough and tickle are suspicious for esophageal reflux. Reflux will respond to over the counter remedies. However, you should discuss these concerns with your doctor. It it isn't reflux, a sleep study may be warranted.
