Suggest Treatment For Headaches, Fatigue And Blurred Vision

I was born with Hydrocephalus and was treated with a VP shunt. This shunt has never truly worked completely and has caused blockage in my shunt throughout my life. At one point, in childhood, this was temporarily treated with a shunt tap, after which I still had many issues. In adolescence, I began to experience rapidly worsening symptoms of VP shunt malfunctions. These included various kinds of seizures. Eventually, I had extreme CSF overdrainage that lead to the worst and longest seizures I have had to date. This occurrence seemed to have caused my brain to collapse while my shunt migrated and I was repeatedly blind and deaf and, eventually, lead to suffocation. I woke with amnesia, having trouble with staying awake and trying to make sense of what was happening while I tried to find help. At the end of that day in early 2011, I was having more seizures at home and was left untreated. I ve had many problems since then while I ve been trying to heal. While the problems I ve had have been changing to some degree, they re still always present. As of 2015, these problems include: -Constantly heavy head that seems to be under pressure . -Numb but painful sensations in head, neck and limbs. -Constantly fluctuating, numb and painful sensations where head connects to neck and at back of head. -Aching and numb face. -Fatigue and weakness. -Constant and fluctuating headaches that can cause energy levels to decrease greatly. -Visual disturbances such as doubled and blurred vision. -Neck stiffness. -Aching chest. -Changes in exercise routine due to aching in head, neck and chest as well as fatigue and weakness. -Body seeming to not have much of a tolerance for exertion, stimulation and stress, causing a body overload . -Long-lasting pain after a lot of stimulation and exertion. -Shocking pain and aching pressure in head as well as a lot of apparent CSF drainage after stress and exertion. -CSF blockage that could be due to intense pressure that shunt was under for so many years as well as the fact that the shunt has migrated and slowly continues to migrate. -Pain from shunt in neck (adhesion pain?) -Constantly stiff neck with fluctuating stiffness. -Tightness everywhere shunt touches. -Short memory. -Difficulty with communication. -Hearing damage and ringing ears (Tinnitus?) -Shifting shunt tubing on collarbone and in chest. -Snapping neck and shifting feelings with popping sounds and sensations where head connects to neck, which are followed by great fatigue. -Shifting shunt along side of head and in forehead. -Problems that result from a lot of CSF drainage. Could you give me any idea of what might be happening with me? I would greatly appreciate that.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

These tests can tell. Also you are already taking meds. Take a follow up from them and get ESR, CRP, vision (retinoscope check), CGRP levels checked. Take tab Natalins Rx for a week and antioxidants, fruits, juices, amla, aloe vera etc., take tab Tylenol for symptomatic treatment (aches etc.), do electrolyte levels if there is still a problem related to hydrocephalus, take a follow up from a neurologist!

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
