Hello dear,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation-
Although you are a patient of an old
stroke with some
carotid artery stenosis,but a
severe headache episode may be unrelated. If you have had similar headache episode previously also, then it may be a case of primary headache like migraine(associated
nausea is a point in favour). And it is worth mentioning here that in setting of a background of stroke, secondary cause of headache has to be ruled out if it is a recent onset headache and you did not have any such headache episode previously. Please answer the following questions so that I can answer your query well-
1)Is this a recent onset headache or you had similar episode in the past?
2)What is the duration of headache? For how many days you are having?
3)Is it on one side of head or both sides?
4)Does the headache increase on exposure to light or sound?
5)Is the headache associated with speech change, facial deviation or eye movement abnormalities.
Please ask a follow-up question with details so that I can answer your query better.I hope it helps.
