Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
I understand your concern and would like to have some more information :
What is your age?
What about your past medical history?
Is your headache throbbing or just like pressure or a band? Is this a new headache or you have experienced it before?
Have you measured your blood pressure? Uncontrolled
high blood pressure could cause headache.
There are different disorders that may be related to this symptomatology :
-
anxiety and depression
-a metabolic disorder (
thyroid dysfunction)
-a
brain tumor or any other brain lesion, etc.
I recommend consulting with the GP for a careful physical examination, including cognitive tests, and some blood lab tests:
-complete blood count
-PCR, sedimentation rate
-fasting glucose
-blood electrolytes
-thyroid hormone levels.
Further tests (a brain
CT scan, etc.) may be needed to establish the diagnosis.
If all the above tests result normal, depression and anxiety should be taken into consideration.
Hope to have been helpful!
Greetings!
Dr. Aida
