Suggest Treatment For Gout

Thankyou. I had a gout attack a week ago and have taken Naporoxen, which i have done before. On Sunday i woke up with stomach upset and my head sweating profusely. I felt constipated and when i went it was very black. I was thinking it might be a side effect of taking Naproxen though i have taken Naproxen occasionally for a few years. I am feeling better day by day but didn t know whether i should see a doctor - i was gooing to wait until the end of the week to see if it cleared up,

Hello, I really appreciate your concern. Your symptoms of stomach upset, constipation and sweating could be due to ingestion of naproxen. But from your description you have taken only single dose of naproxen which usually do not cause harm to body. If you use naproxen recurrently then you should have stool occult blood examination done by laboratory whether there is bleeding in upper gastro-intestinal tract or not.
If the patient with same symptoms come to my clinic I would like to investigate his blood uric acid level and start treatment appropriately along with pain killer like naproxen.
