Suggest Treatment For Globus Sensation

My throat feels dry. I feel a lump in it. It hurts when I yawn. It does NOT hurt to swallow though, nor does it hurt when I talk. My voice sounds fine. It just feels like there’s a dry lump in my throat or larynx and I can feel it the most, or it’ll hurt when I yawn.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Globus sensation in the throat may treat according to causes. The common causes of Globus sensation are:
1. GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease)
2. Anxiety or stress
3. Abnormal esophageal sphincter
4. Rare tumors
5. Thyroid Disease etcetera

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Treatment of the cause may relieve your symptoms.

Please consult your ENT specialist so that he will examine and treat the causative.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
