Suggest Treatment For Gastroenteritis

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...My neighbor is an elderly long-term insulin dependent diabetic. She has been diagnosed with gastroenteritis which seems to be caused by the diabetes. They are giving her no prognosis for recovery. Do you agree?

I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are :
- drink plenty of fluids.
-over-the-counter oral rehydration solutions (OHS), such as Pedialyte
-Take paracetamol for any fever or aches and pains.
-Get plenty of rest.
-gradually begin to eat bland, easy-to-digest foods, such as soda crackers, toast, gelatin, bananas, rice and chicken.
