I had small bowel biopsy. Finding was gastritis (irritation of stomach lining). Doctor s recommendations: Acid suppression. Currently I am taking two omeprazole 20 mg EC cap once daily 30 to 60 minutes prior to eating. Is there a different between omeprazole magnesium and omeprazole?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No, there is no difference in Omeprazole and Omeprazole Magnesium.
Both are same.
Active ingredient is omeprazole.
Pantoprazole and rabeprazole are better molecules than omeprazole for acid suppression.
So discuss about these newer drugs with your doctor for better symptomatic relief.
Along with drugs, certain lifestyle modifications are also useful in gastritis.
These are
1. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
2. Avoid oily and spicy food.
3. Avoid smoking and alcohol if you have these habits.
4. Go for walking after meals.
5. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in bed.
6. Loose weight if you are obese.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
