Suggest Treatment For Frozen Shoulder And Frequent Urination

I had a short shoulder surgery procedure today general anesthesia. cleaning up arthritis and releasing a frozen shoulder .I am urinating has always been frequent at night & I take Flomax. It took a while to urinate after surgery and I did drink lots of water in recovery room. since I have been home &I have been urinating about every 25 minutes with minimal urination. I did not take my Flomax prior to surgery. Can this condition be because of general anesthesia Jerry

Hi,

Yes, this is mostly due to general anaesthesia.

Since you are taking Flomax, you must be having BPH (benign prostatic hypertrophy). So your pelvic smooth muscles which are controlling urination are at a lower tone. This muscle tone is further reduced by general anaesthesia drugs. Therefore, you will have this symptom of increased urination for 2-3 days after surgery.

Start your Flomax and gradually after 2-3 days, this increased frequency will subside.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
