Hi Doctor, I am a 62 year old lady, and I suffer from chronic fatigue. I have been recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia, nobody seems to know much about this, my consultant told me to take paracetamol, which is a joke. I am self employed and work full time, I feel about 90 years old and look it. I have also lost almost 1stone. I am (9st). I have started to take ensure plus along with my meals to try and put on weight. I read recently that dairy products could be the cause of my fb. please can you offer any help. thanking you lilly.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

I have read your query.

Fibromyalgia needs complete physical and psychological examination and depending upon it we usually prescribe antidepressants like duloxetine.

Painkillers like, tramadol + paracetemol.

Exercise to improves fitness and sleep,as this may reduce pain and fatigue in some people with fibromyalgia.

So I advise you to discuss all this with your family doctor.

I hope it helps.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
