Suggest Treatment For Fever In Child
Hi, my 22 mts old is suffering from fever from past 72 hours. she is 15 kgs. I have put her to crocin ..administering which helps get the fever to 99. But 4 gours after giving her crocin syrup fever shoots up 101 degrees & then 102 degrees. And on 7th hour it hovers around 102 + degrees. She has cough for which the doctor suggested Ambrodyl S. I have started her with antibiotic last nite Syr. Augmentin DUO. ? She is literally on water past 3 days. I am kind of worried .. any suggestion?

Hi..It looks like a respiratory tract infection. Fever, cough are the pointers. Does the baby have increased breathing or chest indrawing? If it is present then it would suggest possibility of pneumonia and the child will need antibiotic in proper dosages as per weight for 7 to 10 days. I think you should start antibiotic only after consulting your doctor.
