Suggest Treatment For Fever, Cold And Body Aches

My husband is 68 he had a flu shot about 3 weeks ago. Suddenly last night he came down with a fever. He is very cold even though he has blankets on him and he has body aches. He had a fever of 102.5 a little while ago. I gave him ibuprophin and he is drinking water. Should he go to the ER? He keeps saying he does not want to but how high of fever can he have before it is dangerous? Thank you
