General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I suggest you to consult a pediatric specialist to rule out possible viral and bacterial infections. Since the duration of illness is not mentioned in the query it is difficult to list the possible common causes of the presentation. However, it is quite common in children to stop accepting feeds during illness; that added with vomiting and diarrhea can lead to moderate to severe dehydration. In such scenarios, using ORS exclusively is insufficient and intravenous fluid replacement is needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ayesha Shareef, General & Family Physician
