General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and thanks for sharing your question with us at HCM.

The symptoms that you have described; increased body temperature, nausea, increased appetite, thickened cervical mucus and abdominal discomfort suggest early pregnancy. Doing a home pregnancy test before your period will yield negative results. I advise that you wait a few days. If your period is late by a day, then you can take the test. However, you need to understand that home pregnancy tests are not accurate. The best way to determine if you are pregnant or not is to go to your regular doctor and have them do a blood test for serum beta HCG.
Thank you.
