Suggest Treatment For Excess Saliva Secretion In Mouth
I had less than an hour sleep last night due to excess saliva in my mouth. I could not get to sleep as I had to swallow so much, my stomach and throat are sore as a result. This has never happened to me before. What could be the reason or that? Thanks.
As per your query you have excess salivary secretions in mouth which is Polysialia or Hypersalivation mainly because of anxiety attack, poor oral hygiene and stomatitis and infection of oral cavity. if you have any underlying medical condition that could be the cause of your symptoms.
Need not to worry about it. Maintain basic oral hygiene as membranes of oral cavity gets infected very easily. Brush and floss on daily basis. Use antimicrobial mouth wash to prevent bacterial accumulation.
Visit your dentist to check your mouth for any cause of excess saliva production, or a stone in the ducts. You may need to change your eating habits a little. Try not to talk and eat at the same time.
Try anti-anxiety drugs.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
