Suggest Treatment For Esophagitis

I had esophagitis a year and a half ago - painful sensation, the doctor did an endoscopy and diagnosis was mild esophagitis. Have been a omeprazole for a year and a half. In the middle of the night, for about a month, I have the feeling of a lump in my throat, but no pain. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read your message and understood your medical problem.

There is a high chance that esophagitis is back due to reflux. I don't think that you need to worry much because it looks like a light reflux as you feel it only in the middle of the night when the gastric acid is produced more and the lying position makes the reflux easier.

You can restart the PPI drug once again and take it before sleep and watch the results. If it does not work that set an appointment with your doctor to choose another type of drug to treat esophagitis.

It is very important to avoid certain foods that increase the stomach acid production such as spicy foods, caffeine beverages, fats, chocolate and fast foods. Avoid tight clothing, Elevate your head with extra pillows when you fall asleep, do not lie in bed after eating and avoid chewing gum, smoking and alcohol.

Hope this is helpful.

Thank you.
