Suggest Treatment For Erosive Duodenitis With Multiple Lesions

Hello, I also suffer from an erosive duodenitis with multiple lesions in the whole bulb, probably due to the massive dose of steroids I got together with chemiotherapic treatments during 8 weeks. As a result, I ve had a peritonitis with perforated duodenum at the end of april, and still have erosive duodenitis even though I ve taken LOSSEC and know NEXIUM for about 2 months. Could you help me with appropriate diet and medication? Thanks a lot! Avigail

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

* As per my clinical experience, as there is history of perforated duodenum, I think this question is post operative period related.

Following are possibilities for recurrent duodenitis

- diet related inflammation

- side effects of drugs as steroids or others

- carcinoid syndrome

- other malignancies

In my clinic, I do recommend an endoscopic biopsy of the duodenum for best guidelines of cure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
