I recenty took myself off of my blood pressure medicine (Losartan- HCTZ 100-12.5 mg. My blood pressure is areraging 135/80. My sex drive is still there but I am ubable to keep an erection. I have been having pains in the back of my butt like the sciatic nerve but since I took myself off this medicine the pain has almost stopped. I have been on different blood pressure med. for about 15 years. Do I have to keep taking BP med. I would apprecitate any advice. I am 62 years of age
Thanks for putting up this question on health care magic.If i had similar patient referring to my clinic i would have continued medicine for blood pressure. I may have changed his medication to some other medicine if he experiences any side effect as in your case. Also i would like to start him on medication for erectile dysfunction if required after checking his blood sugar profile which is usually impaired in such cases.Hope i have solved your query.
