Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Liver And Gallbladder Pain

My daughter had her gallbladder out almost two years ago, she has suffered gallstone pain and very loose bowels ever since, she had a very swollen liver during her gallbladder removal and they put it down to all the infection. This week she was admitted to hospital again with severe gallstone pain, blood work is shower her liver is deranged? They think she has stones and sludge in her bile duct, would that be the reason her liver is so bad

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein and I will try to help you as much as I can.

The cause is probably stone in main bile duct and it then causes liver to swell due to bile accumulation proximal to the obstruction. She must do ERCP to extract stones or surgery i this is unsuccessful. It should not be delayed.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
