Suggest Treatment For Elevated Lipase Levels

Hi, my blood test results show that I have elevated lipase level at 300. I am only 34, I had my gallbladder removed when I was 29.5 and suffered gallstone pancreatitis. I am concerned about the health of my pancreas and future problems such as pancreatic cancer. What should I do to heal any damage to my pancreas and prevent further damage. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Levels of lipase what you have mentioned is definitely higher than normal.
That says that pancreatitis still persists and it is not come back to normal.
You need to avoid oily foods and take more of easily digestible carbohydrate and protein rich foods. Also add more of fibre in the diet.
If you are a smoker & alcoholic, you need to quit from them.
Take multivitamin-mineral capsules, which would help to keep the tissue healthy.
Wishing you good health.
