Suggest Treatment For Elevated ALT Levels

Hello.. my brother is concerned about his liver enzymes being raised. All the other blood work came back in normal range besides his alt and the other one ast (maybe) he has been doing a vigorous work out for months now.. if it is just elevated from exercise, will it fix itself or will he need antibiotic or some other kind of medicine.. the ER didn't prescribe any to him

Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist. Increased liver enzymes has many cause like Hepatitis B, C, Metabolic disorders, NAFLD, alcohol intake etc, hope all are negative. If not done then get them done. . There are few medicines which I found very useful in my patients are ursodeoxycholic acid and vitamin E. Continue exercise.I hope I have answered your query and this will help you .
