Suggest Treatment For Edema Around The Bone On Foot

Hi, I injured my foot nine months ago and got a bad sprain with my big toe. I went to get an MRI done a few months after no relief and it revealed I had an edema around my bone. It felt better the past couple months after rest but I just stomped hard and may have reinjured it. I have having some sharp pains and redness and swelling.. What should I do?

Hello,

I recommend having rest and using locally ice packs for at least a week. Ibuprofen or Naproxen can help too. If the pain persists, performing an X-ray may be needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
