Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the last several days my ear seems to have an echo. Everytime I talk or someone talks to me i hears it like in stero. Honestly I m not sure how to describe this. I m not sick or anything I was jsut walking into the house and out of nowhere it felt like as if I was on a plane and right after that the echoing started. I seriously don t even know how to explain this.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of echoing sound in ears which could be due to wax buildup, injury to ear canal, Meniere's disease, water bubble or infection of ear. Need not to worry. You can try hydrogen peroxide once to soften the wax. I would suggest you to apply hot dry compresses to external ear , keep it dry and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and discomfort. If this method doesn't work then consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine your ear with otoscope. Doctor may also order CT scan to confirm the diagnosis and rule out condition like ear infection and eustachian tube dysfunction . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin at least for a week along with decongestants.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
