Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection In A Child

My son, who is 2 years old and weighs 24lbs, has an ear infection and he s been on cefendir since April 18, 2011. However, it seems his temperature of 101.01 won t go away without assistance from Ibruprofen. Now, ear infections do cause fevers, but it shouldn t last longer than 4 days and surely not if a child is taking an antibotic, right?
