Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection And Loss Of Hearing

I had an ear infection in the outer ear and also fluid accumulation in the middle ear. My hearing has been close to zero since last sunday and I am about to finish my very heavy antibiotic pills as well as ear drops containing antibiotics. I still cant hear with this ear and I feel as if I am under the sea with my ear blocked. It continues to itch from time to time. Very concerned about loosing part of my hearing

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of ear infection and loss of hearing which seems to be due to wax build up, fluid accumulation, fungal infection, and systemic disease infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply warm dry compresses to external ear and keep your ear dry until it gets improved and cover your ear while bathing. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. You should go for audiometer testing to check hearing level. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin at least for a week.
