Suggest Treatment For Ear And Upper Respiratory Infection

Today I was diagnosed with an ear infection, and have had a upper respiratory infection for the last week. My fever is controlled through over-the-counter meds, but tonight I have a severe headache and am feeling very unbalanced. It s a little scary how much it hurts. I ve been prescribed Mecllizine 25 mg as needed. I m not sure if this was the right prescription or diagnosis for me?

Hi,
If you were a URTI diagnosed earlier and now having ear infection ( otitis media or labyrinthtis) leading to your imbalance.
You must require antibiotics ( cephalosporins or quinolones preferred) with analgesics and antipyretics with antiinflammatory, only antihistamines like meclizine cannot work here.
So,better you go to ENT surgeon and get treated well.
Never try to self medicate.
