Suggest Treatment For Ear Ache With Impaired Hearing
My name is Sherry... I was diagnosed a few months ago with Meneers Disease. The ENT that Im seeing states that I have lost about 15 per cent of hearing in the past l3 month...Before that I had already last some hearing in my right ear. My right ear hurts constantly. Do you know anthing about this, more options..? I would greatly appreciate your help
Meniere's disease is characterised by repeated episodes of vertigo, feeling of fullness in the ear and decreased hearing (15% hearing loss in 13 months indicates a mild hearing loss). The pain that you are describing may be because of a middle ear infection or a eustachian tube dysfunction.
In my opinion it is recommended that you visit your ENT specialist again for the evaluation of pain in the ear. You will need an ear otoscopy and a nasal endoscopy to evaluate the eustachian tube region.
Based in the findings you may require some nasal decongestants, mucolytics, antibiotics or anti-inflammatory medications.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any further questions.
