Suggest Treatment For Dryness Of Mouth, Tongue And Throat In A Singer

I am an opera singer and for the past year have been suffering from a dry tongue, mouth and throat. Many times I can t get through performance as my mouth is like cotton wool and my vocal folds refuse to work. I am singing and I just can t hit the right note and then voice cuts out completely. I have had to cancel so many concerts. I drink only water, no tea coffee or alcohol. I am on no medications. Past history includes total colectomy . I also have dry eyes. I haven t been tested for sjogrens but wondered about the possibility of having it. I have had many rheumatological tests done as thought to have arthritis but everything is normal.

As per your query symptoms of having cottony wool mouth along with dry mouth and dry throat is indicative of Fungal infection in mouth known as Oral thrush and dry mouth and throat can be due to it..
At times it also goes opposite and dry mouth can be a cause for thrush..
Do not worry, consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and if thrush is diagnosed as the cause the physician can advise you to take anti-fungal mouthwashes like Nystatin mouthwash, clotrimazole lozenges and taking more of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic.
If still there is no improvement in 15 days oral anti-fungal medicines like Fluconazole oral can be advised.
For dry mouth chew sugar free chewing gums as it stimulates saliva flow.
Saliva substitutes like "Artificial saliva" containing methyl cellulose can be instilled multiple times in mouth for lubrication.
Avoid anti-microbial mouthwashes and gargle using mouthwash specially formulated for dry mouth..
Drink plenty of water..
