Suggest Treatment For Dry Eyes

I just saw my eye doctor today for my dry eye syndrome, he says the test was within normal limits but the dye test was positive , got scripts for Restasis and Lotemax but each one of them is costing me $145 copay with my insurance, do I absolutely need these meds? both are antiseptics and have serious side effects, is there something else I can take like diet or supplements, etc.? Thanks. Olivia

Hi..
Welcome to HCM..
If the dry test is positive ie.,
They are not antiseptics but help to improve your symptoms and also tear production...
If you can't use them at least you can use preservative free lubricating eye drops or any artificial tear drops.
Coming to diet, you can take fish liver oil and flax seeds which contain omega 3 fatty acids which help to improve tear production..
Hope this information helps..Take care..
