Suggest Treatment For Dry Coughing Fits

Hi i m from Chennai... For the past few weeks I m suffering from a cough(dry cough) condition and it sometimes happens in a FIT so it takes a while to settle down. When I take seroflo(inhaler) it disappears . This fit of cough also used to appear when I take water or any liquid(even at room temperature). I had this last year also mostly because of the dust and the pollution here in Chennai. What is your advice? thanks very much

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction due to dust. I recommend using antihistamines daily such as Levocetirizine daily.

I also recommend continuing using the inhaler if needed. You should consult an allergologist for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
