Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough While On Codeine

My husband has had a dry nagging cough for over two months, along with severe aches from head to toe. He has been on codeine cough syrup, antibiotics (twice) and several other drugs. He has had a chest x-ray, blood tests for RA and will have a CT Scan on Monday. Any ideas?

if dry cough remains for more than consecutive 2to 3 months then COPD is diagnosis... they are taking all X-ray's to rule out exactly COPD...
