Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough, Shortness Of Breath And Fatigue

I am having shortness or breath with exertion dry cough and severe fatigue following a diagnosed virus . with the virus I almost completely lost my voice, felt generalized aches and fatigue and had crackling sounds in my throat. Since my hoarseness has gotten better I am now short of breath. Maybe coincidently I developed a blood clot behind my left knee. An ultrasound was done and my physician assistant said it was superficial only. The shortness of breathe keeps me from doing any exercise. I am 5 8 and 180 lbs. I have high pressure and low thyroid. Other wise good health

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dry cough, shortness of breath and fatigue is due to lung infection leading to bronchitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water. Avoid taking hot, spicy and fried food. Avoid cold carbonated beverages and don't smoke and alcohol. Take expectorants. Steam inhalation is very effective for you. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay . Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test or virus culture test. You should get an x ray of the chest and Immunoglobulin G levels checked for further treatment. Take decongestant nasal sprays containing mucinex for instant relief. Apply humidifiers in room.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
