Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough And Irritation In The Throat

hi doctor am 23 years old reuben mulonda from zambia i had unprotected sex with a lady i don t know in the second month of this year after three to four weeks i had sort of a dry cough for about a month and after that the dry cough went off and i had a bad throat irritation which am still with upto now and the burning under my feet when i move a long distance please doc i need help and have tested negative in last four months.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dry cough and irritation in the throat which seems to be due to chest infection/ chronic upper respiratory tract infection and formation of lump like feel is due to swollen lymph node/tonsils. The symptoms like dry cough can also occur due to acid reflux, so eat light and non spicy food . I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. You should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done along with throat swab test and blood tests and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for acid reflux or pulmonologist for lung infection. You should get pulmonary function test done. Take proper course of antibiotics. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids. Apply mist humidifiers in room.
