Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough And Crackling In The Throat

I have a constant irritating dry cough, when I lie down I get a crackling noise between my nasal cavity and my throat which then triggers coughing. I have been to the doctors and they say I have no infection and that I should rest. Is there anything I can do to clear this irritating crackling and irritation? Does ear candling work for this?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dry cough and crackling in the throat is due to lung infection leading to bronchitis. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water. Avoid taking hot, spicy and fried food. Avoid cold carbonated beverages and don't smoke and alcohol. Take expectorants. Steam inhalation is very effective for you. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay . Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test or virus culture test. You should get an x ray of the chest and eat non spicy and light. Take decongestant nasal sprays containing mucinex for instant relief. Apply humidifiers in room. Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for acid reflux .
