Suggest Treatment For Double Vision

My son 30 has an eye that does not line up right, it looks like it wanders. He has to shut that eye when he looks sideways because it causes double vision. He was told that the only thing that might help is to have prisms put in his glasses. Is there any other treatment? Can you tell me about this condition? Thank You

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

An extreme degree of double vision needs various lenses and prisms for correction.
A thorough clinical assessment of eyes is required to know the cause of double vision.
I suggest you consult your ophthalmologist and discuss the cause of double vision and possible treatments available other than prisms in eyeglasses.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
