Hi, I went into the hospital last week and found out that I have diverticulosis. The pain was horrible, it was under the lower abdomen, the middle back and in the buttock area. they gave me pain meds and ciprofloxacin. It is common to have a lot of gas pain in the same area, front lower abdomen?
It sounds like you are being treated for diverticulitis which causes abdominal pain usually in the left lower abdomen The antibiotics can take a 1-2 weeks to help . Gas pain can occur int he same area but is usually not as severe. Both diverticulosis and gas can coexist also. Give the medicine 2 weeks to work then if you are not significantly better re consult with your doctor.
