Suggest Treatment For Diverticulitis And Fever

I have Bactrim 160 mg. and Flagyl 500 mg. to take 3 times a day. I weight 114 pounds and 80 years old which one is best for diverticulitis flareup. Also can I cut them in half? They were prescribed to me today for my stomach symptoms, pain in upper and lower abdomen that I have had for over a week and a low grade fever. Dr. suspected it was my diverticulitis flareup. He did not take any tests or blood tests. I don t have any credit cards to pay.

Oh, you need more than one antibioitc AND about 10% of the time it is goiong to need treatment in a hospital.
If someone has diverticulitis in the past and has the same symptoms (mild) then outpatient treatment without much else works about 90% of the time and takes 1-2 days to show improvment. BUT sometimes treatment fails and this can be very dangerous if not found and treated with stronger medicines.
