Suggest Treatment For Dilated Bile Duct

Hello, I am a 62 year old female that had gallbladder removed over 10 yrs ago. I presented with symptoms similar to that prior to gallbladder removal. CAT scan revealed dilated bile duct. No stones were visible. I am scheduled for an upper GI Endoscopy next Thursday. My gastroenterologist stated that the sphincter of oddi may be the problem. I am concerned about having another surgery since I will be travelling in May. What other treatment options could I be expecting?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings Regarding your diagnosed dilated bile duct following a previous cholecystectomy I am suggesting that yes let your physician specialist do the upper gastrointestinal endoscopy
The diagnostic procedure (endoscopy) will definitely identify any obstruction causing the dilated bile duct as well as serve as a therapeutic measures in resolving any possible blockage along the common bile duct
I hope this helps Regards
