Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Swallowing

My mother had a colonoscopy this past Wednesday and Saturday we found her sitting on the couch with her panties n in the middle of the day and she didn t no she was in the world. She is in Lake Norman Hospital now but we have no trust in them. She is running a fever of 104 she can eat but can not swallow liquid or meds. So they are putting her meds in jello. but they have no reason for this. They did a spinal tap it came back negative. Can you think of anything that may be causing this. Thank You

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Welcome to HCM,

Colonoscopy is a day care procedure, its nothing to do with your mother's difficulty in swallowing.

Needs endoscopy, to see any lesions in throat, blood tests - nutritional deficiencies causing ulcers in oral cavity.

Ask for an ent consultation, if she is still in hospital.

All the best.
