Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Bowel Movement And Urination

I had a tummy tuck four days ago. I did not experience any difficulty urinating until yesterday. I also have not had a bowel movement either. I believe it s all a result of the pain medication. However, due to the muscle repair, I am still in too much pain to go without my medication.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
Your concern is understandable. It would be good to know your age and if you're on any other medications after the surgery. If you're on a normal diet, you should have a Laxative daily to ease your bowel movement. If possible, as you're in severe pain as you mention, it's best to have a check-up, with your surgeon, who can advise you after an examination.
Usually, an ultrasound scan may be advised, which can evaluate your difficulty in passing urine and the pain in abdomen, with constipation.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
