Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my child has had diharrea and has been throwing up has loss of appitiet is now weak and lethargic. regular doc cant get her in this has now been going on for about 2 weeks. Er took blood work everything came back normal was wondering what could be causing this? Has not been running a fever
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of your child suffering from diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weakness and lethargy going on for about 2 weeks. Blood work is normal and the regular Doctor can not get this. I would advise you the following: It is most important to send the stool sample for 3 consecutive days and also to ask for the tests of intolerance. This report will give the idea, if there is an infection antibiotics and anti-emetics will cure the problems. If the stool tests shows no infection, we have to think about some allergy or intolerance to some certain products. Your keen observation can help us to get the diagnosis and stop the particular foods and/or beverages to get the results. Give the child probiotics.
