my husband is suffering unstable diabetas reading first he was also taking co-tendine for blood bressure the doctor changed his tablets to atenelol and bezolfrusimide after a visit we were told this was the reason for thediabetis reading and he gave him ramapril is this ok as it says in the leaflet it can also cause low blood sugars
I am sorry that your husband is facing unstable diabetes problems.
Ramipril is an anti-hypertensive drug, it is used to lower blood pressure. It is common for diabetic patients to have high blood pressure (hypertension) at the same time.
If your husband has been diagnosed with hypertension, ramipril is one of the drugs of choice to treat it. Atenolol is a beta-blocker used to treat high heart rates problems. Benzoyl furosemide is a diuretic that is used to treat hypertension too.
I advise to measure his blood pressure, record the results and pass them to his cardiologist in order to adjust the dose of medications he is taking.
Hope it helped! All the best! Dr.Albana
